1. Spotting Common Matrimony Red Flags
Customs / Expensive Gift Scam
A person claiming to live abroad announces they sent you gold or luxury gifts, followed by a call demanding customs clearance fees. This is a 100% scam.
Refusal to Video Call or Meet
If a person always refuses video calling, claims their camera is broken, or refuses to involve parents/family elders, proceed with extreme caution.
2. Safe In-Person Meetings
- Always meet in a public, well-lit place such as a reputed cafe or restaurant.
- Always inform your parents, family members, or a close friend about the meeting venue, date, and contact details of the person.
- Arrange your own transportation to and from the venue.
3. Background & Family Verification
